Microsoft Office Live Meeting is a leading high-quality web conferencing service operated by Microsoft. Live Meeting is SaaS (Software as a service) which includes software that is installed on client PCs, and uses a central server for all clients to connect to. It can host up to 1250 participants in one meeting, offering one collaboration solution for your entire organization.
Groopex integrates Moodle with Microsoft Live Meeting which includes all that's needed for an online virtual classroom, such as:
- Whiteboard
- Handouts (document sharing)
- Face to face discussions (Webcams and VoIP)
- Viewing presentations
- Raising hand
- Taking notes
- Polling
Additionally, Microsoft Live Meeting provides:
- Splitting the main live meeting session into virtual break-out rooms for one-on-one discussions or team activities, teachers can easily move between rooms and participate/supervise all discussions
- Real time pointing, so students can see where a teacher is reading from, or a teacher can see what a student is referring to when asking a question
- Annotation, underlining or highlighting anything needing emphasis, or drawing a diagram on a document
- A 360-panoramic video delivered together with the Microsoft Roundtable device making all participants feel like they are in the same room
- Application sharing, allowing specialized applications for a particular topic to be viewed by all, and even worked on together
- Full recordings which can be downloaded and replayed using a standard Windows Media Player
